National Palliative Care Week 2022 - “Palliative Care It’s your right”

National Palliative Care Week (NPCW), held from 22 – 28 May 2022, is Australia’s largest annual awareness-raising initiative held to increase understanding of the many benefits of palliative care.  

This year’s theme, “Palliative Care It’s your right”, seeks to raise awareness about the rights of all Australians to access high-quality palliative care when and where they need it.  

During NPCW, virtual and face-to-face events will be held across the country to acknowledge and celebrate the commitment and dedication of all those working and volunteering in the palliative care sector across Australia.  

We are particularly excited that Palliative Care Australia’s (PCA) main virtual NPCW event – Parliamentary Friends of Palliative Care – will showcase some of the important work achieved by the Paediatric Palliative Care National Action Plan Project. The event will be held at 11am on Thursday 26 May, with more event details to be released soon on PCA’s website. 

We look forward to having more conversations with you during NPCW about the benefits of quality paediatric palliative care.
