The Paediatric Palliative Care National Action Plan Project received grant funding from the Australian Government as part of the Supporting Children with Life Threatening Medical Conditions and their Families 2019 election commitment. Palliative Care Australia is pleased to be working closely with Paediatric Palliative Care Australia and New Zealand (PaPCANZ) to deliver the project.
This exciting three-year project commenced in July 2020.
The Paediatric Palliative Care National Action Plan Project represents a unique opportunity to support health professionals to respond to the specialist needs of children with life limiting conditions. The project will also address the needs of parents and carers seeking assistance to care for a child with high medical needs and life limiting conditions.
The objectives of the project are:
We need your help to improve palliative care for infants, children and young people and their families. Your experiences are the best evidence we will have to drive improvement in the quality of, and access to, palliative care throughout Australia.

The Paediatric Palliative Care National Action Plan Project (Project) team is excited to announce that the Paediatric Palliative Care Literature Review is now complete.
The Literature Review will be used as the basis of a Discussion Paper to guide consultations with health professionals and consumers in the coming months.
We encourage you to take the time to read the Literature Review here.
The first step in the project was to establish a Steering Committee which includes people with the capability and content knowledge to provide guidance, oversight and review the progress of the project. Information on Steering Committee members can be found here.
Keep up to date with the Paediatric Palliative Care Project through the PCA website, Twitter or Facebook.
