Adolescents and young adult panel session
Oral Presentation
October 13th 2022 at 11:55am
Adolescents and young adults (AYA) have unique and changing needs as they grow and develop. We will meet two young people. Both have had a cancer diagnosis, been cared for in the paediatric and adult settings, and had contact with palliative care for different reasons.
This session will be relevant for clinicians working in paediatric and adult healthcare, across both hospital and community settings.
Michael was diagnosed in 2002 at the age of five with a Pilocytic Astrocytoma of the brain stem. He has undergone multiple brain surgeries including the placement of a shunt, chemotherapy and, radiotherapy. Michael entered Palliative Care in 2021 after his last chemotherapy regime.
This is their story.
Join us to talk to them directly about their experiences.
